It is well said by Heraclitus “The Only Thing That Is Constant Is Change”. Nowadays Technologies are changing rapidly. If you fix any vantage point and analyze one decade as far as the technological advancements are concerned, you will find a significant change in the technologies. Now Internet is available to all, there is almost free phone call, smart TVs, rise of social media and many more. A lot of companies are working on artificial intelligence which will bring more technological advancement.

Once a company decides to go in tandem with technical advancement, companies have to deal with people’s resistance to changes. In this scenario company has to take care of the transformation and the associated enterprise risk. Because transformation will always come with new risk and it may be technical as well cultural.

There are three basic requisites People, Process and Technology, all are essential for a successful organization transformation. Sometimes organization feel that if we implement new technology all of existing problem will go away but Technology is as important as Processes  and People are equally important. It is a kind of equilateral triangle as far as the dependency are concerned and one cannot imbalance among them.

People: People are creatures of their own habit on personal as well as professional front. They feel ease in chores but when changes occur they show resistance to their own made comfort zone. People at large form its culture in an organization so developing a habit of adoption of new things, respecting the value of updating himself, etc. plays a vital role in the readiness of an organizational transformation. Just imagine a developer who is responsible for righting his code and evaluating his own written code. But once the company grows, and he is reluctant to follow a set of process. The developer will show some resistance, he will feel that his autonomy is getting challenged which leads to frustration. So the people have to always embrace the change because sometimes change is inevitable for the organization as well as an individual. The individual should reduce the risk of digital transformation through managing digital privacy and respecting individual data.

Process: The process helps people to do work in a better way to achieve business goals. The process defines a standard and defined the set of procedures to avoid reinvention of work wheel every time. At the same time it overhauls the running working culture to agile and secure. The process scales up individual productivity and accelerates growth. A person with a process in place is equal to ten people without process. There should be three most important outcomes of process adoption Faster, Efficient and Better.

Technology: Technology helps companies to automate the process in a secure and efficient way. It helps companies to train their people to make better data-driven business decisions. Nowadays artificial intelligence, machine learning and cloud computing have provided facilities to work faster on data to execute a process and take decisions.

Conclusion: At the end organizations are interdependent on People, Process and technology. At each and every step organization has to evaluate the effusiveness of the on the matrix

  • Is it fast?
  • Is it efficient?
  • Is it creating value?
  • Is it safe?

If the answers of these queries are satisfactory an organization have to move ahead if it is unsatisfactory have to again correct the equation among People, Process and Technology.
